Finally cleared JCS term test. I’ve got a strong feeling that it’s going to be another ‘辉煌’ result. Was dozing off halfway through the paper (during the sequencing and compre portion), despite the mocha extreme I was sipping before and during the test. *shakes head*

Accompanied momo to the national library after the test, she had to do some research for her literature review. Ethics and values. Hmm… definitely not an easy topic to write on. We spent almost 3 hours in the library, only to complete the definition part. =S Good luck to momo. =X

A bit of back-blogging. =) In periodical manner – from the earliest to latest. *massive massive entry*

Cruise getaway to Redang

A long awaited holiday, a long awaited break.
First time travelling with dabian, first time travelling in the longest period ever (my last trip was more than 10 years ago!). =)

Day 1 – 22th Jul 2009

Woke up super late in the morning and headed to dabian’s house to pack my stuff in the afternoon. Dabian’s dad gave us a lift to the cruise centre. =)

Getting ready for the trip

Checked-in at around 4pm ++. We were fortunate because we didn’t have to queue too long for check-in and boarding – privilege for the balcony class holders. =) A group of aunties (world cruiser holders) who were next to our queue was super bs because they were there earlier than us and we get to board earlier. =X

Dabian reading the itinerary on the bed and a pretty view of the balcony.

The pool, the Jacuzzi, the slide. <3

The first evening/night was pretty short. Went for a stroll along the deck and explored the other levels. We went back to our room to arrange some stuff before heading out again for the emergency drill briefing. After the briefing, we had dinner at The Mediterranean restaurant, which tasted like canteen food. =/ Jacuzzi-ed after dinner. Damn shiok! =)

Later that night, we went for karaoke session. $50 per hour! O_O But we had fun. =D

Strolled along the deck after karaoke and played a game of checkers before heading back to our room.

The enormous checkers set. I totally suck at checkers. =/

The enormous chess set.

Day 2 – 23th July 2009

We had dim sum in the morning. I love love love dim sum! =D

Photobucket

Dim sum! <3

Morning walked on the deck.

Photobucket

The sea breeze was awesome. I couldn’t even take a proper shot with the wind messing up my hair constantly.

Photobucket

Dabian all ready for Redang.

The little boats which ferried us to and fro Redang.

Welcome to Redang!

Us. =)

The pretty beach.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The beach is so so so pretty! And the water is so so so clear!! <3

The white white sand.

The view of SSV from the ferry back to the ship.

Really enjoyed the short trip to Redang island. Even though we didn’t try any of the water activities, soaking in the sea water and floating together with the waves was good enough. It was truly relaxing. =)

Headed back to our room to wash up. The amount of debris we brought back up to the ship was scary. We had to call for room service because the room was too sandy after that. XDD

Used our dining credit at Samurai restaurant that evening.

Dabian’s beef something~

Day 3 – 24th July 2009

Woke up damn early on our last day. Our plan: to view the sunrise together from our balcony.
Our plan didn’t work quite well.

1) Our balcony is not facing the sunrise direction. -___- I had to whine and whine for dabian to accompany me to the deck to view the sunrise.
2) Unfortunately, it was raining the previous night (I had no idea), and the cloud were too thick to even see the sun. =/

Since we were already out of bed and it was still early, we strolled around other parts of the ship while waiting for the Chinese restaurant to open.

Something wrong with the Japanese?! =/

We had dim sum for breakfast again! I love love love dim sum!! <3

Photobucket

After the sumptuous dim sum breakfast, we morning-walk around the pool and the photo gallery.

Photobucket

The person (partially hidden behind the yellow pole) who slow-motioned down the slide. The scene was hilarious! He is sliding down at an extremely slow pace and he would look at our direction when he reaches that clear portion of the slide. XDD

Photobucket

The photo gallery where we spent most of our money at.

Went back to our room early to pack our luggage. This is probably the most tedious and saddening itinerary. =( 3 days is just too short.

We had our last lunch onboard at Pavillion. One of the better free buffet-style restaurant. Coincidentally, the person who slow-motioned down the slide earlier in the morning, sat next to our table at the restaurant. XD

Photobucket

Dabian’s hamburger steak.

Photobucket

My pork rib fried rice.

Photobucket

Strawberry ice cream for all! =9

Photobucket

Fort Siloso from our balcony.

Photobucket

Last couple shot at the poolside before checking out. =(

Photobucket

Bye-bye SSV.

Dabian’s dad and sister came to pick us up from the cruise centre. =) I was partially dead on the journey back home and totally dead when we got home. Tired, tired, tired!! Slept from the moment we reached home till around 6pm++ in the evening. Dabian was watching drama while I snoozed, I wondered how he managed it. =X

We had dinner at Terminal 3’s 店小二. All the good food for 3 days. =)

Photobucket

I super love this shot. Dabian looks cute here. XPP

Photobucket

O_O

Food!!! =9

July SNS

ECP to Changi Village – 25th July 2009

No rest for the day after the trip. Woke up early for woke and ended work early for SNS. It’s the same old route from the women’s night skate last year. Too bad none of my skating kakis could make it for this SNS.

Photobucket

Skated with Aileen for the first part of the course. She was telling me a lot about studies and work. Really enriching conversation. =) I guess I should start worrying for my studies and career pathway. =X

Photobucket

After the second water break, I lost track of Aileen and was skating with Hui Yi and her father most of the time. It was Hui Yi’s first time skating such a long distance and she was pretty much worn out halfway through the runway. She kept asking if we were reaching soon. XD Well… she completed the whole course and I’m so proud of her! =)

SM’s belated birthday celebration

27th July 2009

Cindy and I celebrated SM’s 21st birthday after work. The birthday celebration was belated because SM was overseas on the actual day (honeymoon-ing with her bf) and I was away when she returned.

Had dinner at the Glass House. Though things did not go according to plan, I’m glad she enjoyed the dinner and our company.

See! Can’t blame me for putting weird photos of SM. She is always giving me that look! XDDD

Happy birthday SM! =D

Sing Dollar

1st August 2009

Momo and I went to catch the Sing Dollar Musical at Esplanade theatre. We had no idea that the musical was a day before JCS term test when we purchased the tickets in April. =X

Photobucket

The show was great! Well production by the cast of Dim Sum Dollies. =) Synopsis can be found here.

I love love love the way they talked about controversial issues such as prostitution (Filipinos and Chinese), Bangladeshi workers, money laundering, etc. Despite the coarse language used, the entire show was well written and up-to-date. They used really current issues such as MJ’s death, Ming Yi Fa Shi’s court case, etc. Momo and I both think that they changed the script a little recently – to add in those few bits. Good job! =)

But still I prefer CATS and Dim Sum Dollies. =/
