Selection day

左盼右盼,终于让我们盼到这一天。

We were super excited!
Listed down our choices last night. It wasn't an easy task at all.

We were picky with our selections.
We didn't want low level and corridor apartments.
We didn't want a unit facing the morning / evening sun.
We wanted a convenient unit - near the lift, refuse chute and carpark.
Only managed to select and rank the few potential units after long discussion and advices from dad.

We set off for HDBhub super early in the morning and reached the place 1.5 hours before our appointment.
Viewed the 3D models and double confirm our selections.
Had a quick breakfast before camping in front of the sales office.

Both of us were super kan chiong.
Sat right in front of the queue monitor and constantly looking out for 'competitors'.
We were desperate lor! Even resorted to peeking at others' list of selections! LOL!
When our queue number finally *beeped* onto the queue monitor, dabian jumped up and rushed into the sales office, leaving me behind. XDD

WE MANAGED TO GET OUR 1ST CHOICE!!
Our ideal unit!
Corner unit located next to the carpark, fitness corners, playground, busstop and most importantly...
ON THE 11TH FLOOR!!!
我们真的跟十一楼很有缘。

Spot the difference between the 2 photos.

 Before

After

You see the reason why we were so nervous??!!
Because we monitored the available units as if they were stocks.
In case you can't see the difference, the unit we selected is #11-368.

太兴奋了!!
Let me show you how our future home will look like!!!

Blk 429B
The unit on the extreme right, 3rd from the top.

From this day on, we will have to work extra hard. 努力存钱!!!

Angered

Chanced upon this video when I was waiting for the photos to upload and watching the noose on youtube.
Don't you think its infuriating?
They are criticising our english standard!!! WTH!
Really! I don't see the right for them to say that on national tv because their english standard is wayyyyyyyyyyyy below ours.

Massive update

Back to blogging because I can't sleep and I have lots of photos to upload.
Transferring the photos from my camera to HDD.
Watching noose on youtube at the same time.
I simply LOVE michelle chong and her imitations!
BEST!

Anyway, I'm doing a massive update before I go into another hiatus.
Bear with the photos and my telli-gi-ble ang moh.

21 Apr 2011

Its seems kinda damn to put today's date in the post.
I'm only doing this to differentiate between the other days.

Anyway, mo and I met up after work for dinner.
Dinner was at TGIF at heeren.
We had to utilise our remaning heeren vouchers before it expires.

Meeting mo has been a fattening affair recently.
Because whenever we meet, we feast. LOL!

We had a hard time deciding what to get.
Every item on the menu looks yummy. (with really frightening price too)
Both of us has Jack Daniel's Sirlion in the end.
We simply had to try their moo moos.

I love the beef but the sauce was a little too salty for my liking.
(Jack Daniels sauce means it contains alcohol?)
The vege was a little tough. But the pepper was YUM!
What I like about the meal was the PERFECT medium rare ANGUS BEEF.

1st - ANGUS BEEF
We all know how yummy it tastes.
It has the right composition of fats (i like!) and lean meat.
Nothing beats it besides wagyu (omg... gyukaku's wagyu cubes is the best-est)

2nd - PERFECT medium rare
Friends who know me well will know how much I adore med rare beef.
This is definately one of the most 标准 med rare beef I've tried.
Reddish, pinkish in the inside. Ohhhhhh.. so tender!
Don't believe it? See the next photo.

Look at that pinkish bit! And the fats. LOVE FATS!!!
It was a good meal BUT I doubt I will visit the place again.
The price was such a turn off.
$90 for 2 plates for steak. T_T
I would rather pay abit more for WAGYU at gyukaku. LOL!

After the satisfying meal (not too satisfying for the wallet), we strolled to comcentre because mo wanted to ask about iPhone 4.
We ended up looking at other phone.
This naughty woman was trying to psycho me into getting the same phone as her.
Take a look at this! *points down*

Xperia Arc!

I never had good impression on andriod phones. But this is simply awesome.
We spent 1.5 hours at coffee beans reading through the reviews and raving about this phone.
Ohhhhh myyyy goooooddnesss.... I'm soooo tempted to get it!
MO! Its all your fault!! LOL!

17 Apr 2011

I'm not kidding when I said that it has been a fattening affair meeting mo recently.
We met on Sunday with an agenda to EAT!

Our 饭前运动 was to 2nd home.
My hunger level was at its peak when we were there because I didnt had anything before meeting mo. T_T

Lunched at Jack's Place in heeren (utilising our vouchers again)
Heeren's Jack's Place reminds me of our $9 executive lunch (beef) set. OMG! CHEAP!

T
ried their april promo. And I love their prawn tempura.
Huge slab of beef! Low price! Ultra like!

After meal, we had to prolong our 饭后运动 before proceeding for the main agenda for the day.
I think we circled the basements of ion at least twice!
But it was necessary because.... the next program on our list was DESSERT.

Walked a great distance to Flor Patisserie at Duxton Hill. (because we had vouchers)
They hav really pretty japanese cakes. All of them look yummy!
We didn't manage to try their signature tofu cheese cake though. =(

Tried their wakakusayama, strawberry shouffle and cheese tart.

I thought the wakakusa was pretty good. But mo felt that the green tea taste wasn't strong enough.

This is my favourite!
The sweetness was just right and the cake is mosit and soft.
But the strawberry was a little too sour.

The cheese tart was surprisely GOOD!!
You know how cheese taste weird at times.
The chef got the right composition of cheese. It was neither too cheesy nor too bland.
I think I can finish the whole tart by myself!

My feasting partner. She always have good recommendation for food!

This is definately the cutest thing sitting in the restaurant.
Darn CUTE lah!! Look at its legs!!!!

16 Apr 2011

Awesome day out with a group of awesome friends after a not so awesome 6hrs lecture.
Sm came to pick wj and I from SIM. Our first experience with sm's driving. LOL.
She is quite a good driver! Considering she has only drove 3 times prior to meeting us.

Had desset at Ice Cream Chef along East Coast Road.
The place has really cool names for its ice cream.
Big portion too! Can fight with Tom's plattter.

You can even choose from a variety of add-on for your ice cream.
I took the kaya lottee ice cream on belgium waffle plus peanuts.
Sounds yummy yea?!!! It was!

We dug into our ice cream instantaneously.
Before anyone of us remembered to take photo our of ice cream, it was already 50% gone. LOL!

After that, we drove out to Tampines to pick Cindy and then we headed to Teo Heng.
I've heard people raving about Teo Heng. Good audio system and low price.
Well.. I guess I couldn't give a good review of the audio system because the room we had was too small and I couldn't heard my voice most of the time.

BUT the rumor about the price is true.
Teo Heng is INSANELY CHEAP!
The bill was ONLY $36 for 3 hours of singing.(4pax)
CHEAP OR WHAT?!!!!

Babies these days... 真会抢 mic. tsk tsk

Awesome! I love them!!!
*flying kisses to Cindy*

I couldn't resist posting this up.
Because its funny we have that same 累倒不行expression.
Thanks to 6hours of lecture.

Anyway, we sort of did a early birthday celebration for wj.
SUPER EARLY birthday celebration.
His birthday falls on 7 May but its wedge in between the exam period.

We couldn't find a proper cake store in Katong Shoppoing Centre.
Got him a walnut cake instead. 真是不好意思!!

Anyway, this were the couple of the day.
They are so FUN to tease!!! LOL!

EXTRA EXTRA!!
Controversial photos siol!!!

KARAOKE WAS GREAT!!!
I love K-ing... especially with these guys!!

We drove to ECP for dinner after that.
I'm not posting up the ECP food photos because...
1) I think I have posted too many food photos in this entry
2) The uploading process is taking too long. Its killing me.
LOLS!

There~~~ finally a decent post after so long! =)
It has been a rather solemn day at work.
There had been rumors for quite some time but nothing concrete until today.
To me, the annoucement wasn't unexpected but it was too sudden.
Afterall, we were being assured that no actions will be taken just yesterday.
It seems like what we have been told was all just lies and cover-ups.
I just don't buy it.. the decision was definately not a today or yesterday thing.
How can it be a sudden decision when it was already planned ahead?

I highly doubt that I would be ready by May. It’s a whole load of information to digest. The hard work from prelims has more or less gone down the drain because I have forgotten a huge chunk of it.

The overseas lecturers’ revision classes made me realize how little I understand of each module. I thought the prelims were pretty easy and was hoping that the final exam would be of equal difficulty. Turns out that the prelims questions weren’t as simple as I thought it was.

I have not collected my prelims results. But I’m quite sure I hadn’t done a fantastic job. My answers to the prelims are considered skimpy as compared to the detailed model answer given by the lecturers. Damn demoralized.

It’s less than a month to the exams. There’s just too little time and so much to revise.

Perhaps, I should camp in the school library during my exam leave.

BTO

The excitement is indescribable. Less than 20 days to selection day.

It feels like moving on to a next phase in life even though it’s going to take another few more years before we receive the key. Its gonna be our first BIG ‘purchase’ together.

I really enjoyed the furniture viewing trips. It gives us a gauge on how much to save. Boy… it’s going to be a huge sum of money.

This has truly been an incredible journey. And I’m glad we have made it so far.
