New job

Taking a break from the Taiwan posts.
A little update of the recent happenings.

So... I finally left NTT.
Been with the company for 4 years and 4 months.
Long and memorable period.

Joined the company right after poly and have grew with the company since.
I'm glad to have met all the right people who helped me along the way.
I thank my boss for her patience and grooming.
She pathed my career for me and I'm grateful for that.

The great friends I made, I will never forget.
Thanks to them for making my experience at NTT memorable.

The only photos I have from the farewell lunches. =)
(forgot to take photos with my lunch kakis)

y

Feeling sorry to leave my team mates during this tough period - renovation, increment, etc.

It has been a week at my new workplace.
Doing well so far... still learning the ropes from my 'seniors'
Gotten used to waking up earlier. =)

Don't know what ill coincidence this it... but something always happen when I start a new job.
My voice was hoarse (almost voiceless) during my first week at NTT.
This time, I'm having some kind of unknown skin problem.

We (the doctor and I) thought it was some kind of insect bite at first.
But we couldn't pin-point as to where I got them from.

This was how it looked like before it got worse

The doctor gave me some medication to consume and apply.
The spots got better initially but became worse after a week of medication.
It was extremely bad!

The spots at it 'prime' stage
It swelled and itched like crazy.

Went back to see the doctor and had a jab to stop the swell and itch.
Changed the entire set of medication.
Now, we suspect its eczema and not insect bite.

How it looks like now... this is just the front.
The back is equally bad. In fact, the spots at the back are larger.
Though, it no longer itches and the spots are lightening, its still so ugly =(

Taiwan -- Day 5

Day 5 in Taiwan… we woke up damn early to catch the early HSR to Taichung.
Took the MRT to Zuoying where the HSR station is situated.

Got our tickets from the vending machine. How convenient!

HSR moves at 295km/h!! It took only slightly more than an hour from Kaoshiung to Taichung.
(Took us more than 3 hours on normal railway!)

Our luggage and a glimpse of our床头照 at the back.
It wasn’t easy carry these around! Especially our photo frame!

Our breakfast onboard the HSR
Healthy and yummy!

Love

Thankfully, we pre-arranged our cab driver to pick us up at Taichung HSR station.
Otherwise, its going to be hell carrying the luggage.
Taichung doesn’t have MRT system like in Kaoshiung and Taipei, so you’ve really got to rely on private transportation.
Especially when the attractions are quite inaccessible and ulu.
For our case, we engaged a cab driver for our 3 days in Taichung and had our itinerary worked out prior to our trip.
We eventually became good friends with our cab driver, xiao yi.
Do let me know if any of you require cab service in Taichung! =)

Alright.. I shall do this by attractions.
(So I don’t get confuse.. lol)

心之芳庭
Our first attraction was Moncoeur (心之芳庭)
This kind of themed garden is quite popular in Taiwan.
We skipped Lavendar Cottage because Moncoeur was more convenient and was opened by the same boss (so similar concept).

Nice entrance =)

There were several cute looking cottages and houses around the garden.
Cozy and romantic in some way.

Banana New Paradise (香蕉新樂園茶飯館)

Had our lunch at Banana New Paradise.
The restaurant is like a museum on its own replicating the street of old Taiwan.
Entering the restaurant is like walking back to our grandparents’ era some 60 years ago.

Old school tram marks the restaurant along shuang shih road
